We went to Yanagawa for the opening of the Hina Doll Festival. The large face is an Otafuku, a symbol of good fortune.

Moyo: This face is cute.

Moyo's US passport was expiring, so we went to the consulate to apply for a new one. On the way home, we took a stroll through Ohori Park, past the art museum there. This giant pumpkin (or gourd?) sits outside the museum.

Moyo: The black spots are hot, but the yellow is cool. Why?

Moyo: I look really lonely. I wonder why?

17 March 2009

Moyo has been helping tear down the outbuilding in Chikugo.

Moyo: I am breaking the wall. Cool, huh?

The statue behind Moyo is a wind god. She is trying to copy his facial expression.

Moyo: It is scary.

21 April 2009

Moyo: This was fun!

Squid ink pasta.

Moyo: It is black. Why did you take this picture?

18 May 2009

Moyo: It looks like I have a bump on my chin. I am laughing because it was funny.

Moyo: The flower is really cute. So I am happy.
