We went to Yanagawa for the opening of the Hina Doll Festival. The large face is an Otafuku, a symbol of good fortune.

Moyo's US passport was expiring, so we went to the consulate to apply for a new one. On the way home, we took a stroll through Ohori Park, past the art museum there. This giant pumpkin (or gourd?) sits outside the museum.
Moyo: The black spots are hot, but the yellow is cool. Why?
